Also known as 竹蚌 in Chinese, the Bamboo Clam is naturally succulent and has a wonderfully sweet flavour. Some people compare Bamboo Clam to the elusiveness of Wild Truffles.

Bamboo Clams are sold in 1kg bundle, as seen in the picture. Each piece measures 18 to 20cm, about 8-10 pieces per kg.

How to store live bamboo clams
The bamboo clams will not survive if it dries out. You can wrap it in a damp cloth and store in your fridge for up to 24 hours.

How to clean bamboo clams
Press the clam lightly on a firm surface and slice your knife across the mouth of the clam. Remove any loose sand and innards. Rinse thereafter. If you are still unsure, just request for us to show you on the spot!

How to cook bamboo clams
We recommend steaming cleaned bamboo clams for about 5 mins with minced garlic scattered on the clam meat.
